Background: Child dental fear is one of the behavior problems that dentists face in practice and has been linked to poor dental health. The main objectives of this study were to compare child and parental ratings of child dental fear and to assess the effect of child and parent characteristics on the ratings. Methods: The full version and the 6-item short version of the Children’s Fear Survey Schedule-Dental Subscale (CFSS-DS) were used to assess child dental fear.
